History of the Brigade
The Junction City Brigade is beginning its fifth season as a participant in the Mid-Plains League, an 8-team league with teams comprised from cities in Kansas and Missouri.
In the summer of 2013, a group of dedicated baseball fans brought baseball back to Junction City, Kansas. After two years of vacant baseball at Rathert Stadium, the group chose to pick the name Brigade based off of the nearby army base, Fort Riley.
Since its first season, the Brigade has won two Cowdin Cup Championships in 2014 and 2016, with Frankie Valle winning the Mid-Plains Player of the Year in 2016.
